The Waterfall
posted by Ethan - September 28 2012 01:06:27 PM
A rich man was found hanging by his neck from the roof of his study room near a waterfall. Tests show that the man had been dead for at least a day. The waterfall was near a heavily wooded area populated by bears. The study room has an unusually tall ceiling: 14 feet straight up. There is a window near the 12 foot mark. A hole was found in the wall at about the 2 foot mark. The hole was big enough for a person to fit through. A few wooden planks were missing from the porch.

Investigation shows that it is impossible for a man to carry another man all the way up to the roof even with a ladder. The killer did not bring any special tools with him besides what it took to make the hole in the wall. It was also impossible for a person to hoist another person from the window to the place he was hanged because of the distance. Even with a wooden plank.

How did the killer manage this?

I bet the planks made a raft. The rich man was placed onto the raft and thrown off the waterfall. The rich man slid off the raft near the end of the waterfall and got hung buy his collar.

He got hung by his collar in a study room while sliding off a waterfall?

However, you are right about the planks making something that has to do with the waterfall. Or water in general.

did the waterfall fill up the room with water, elevating them both to the top and then he hung him there?
