3 Men and 3 Chickens
posted by Gecimen - October 09 2012 08:05:16 AM
A man enters a live chicken store and asks for half of the total chickens in the shop plus a half chicken. He pays, gets his chickens and leaves. Another man enters and asks for the same thing, pays, gets his chickens and leaves. A third man asks for the same thing and when he leaves there are no chickens left in the store. How many chickens were there in the store at the beginning?

Hint: The store is a LIVE chicken store. They don't kill chicken.

Total chicken's = 7
Rough Work:
1st person: 7/2 + 1/2 = 7 - 4 = 3
2nd person: 3/2 + 1/2 = 3 - 2 = 1
3rd person: 1/2 + 1/2 = 1 - 1 = 0
